Memorial Day Update

So, we are at roughly 9 weeks out ( a little less) from the 2011 Yankee Classic. Yikes, time flies!!! 22 weeks seemed like a life time, 9 weeks seems like the blink of an eye. The dieting is definitely getting stricter... which sucks in the summer. Surprisingly, it isn't the beer that I find myself missing the most. I think I miss sweets the most, like Lago's ice cream (coffee heath bar frozen yogurt with hot fudge, to be precise). But, soon enough. Also, some of the great people on bodybuilding.com brought some magic called Arctic Zero to my attention - its like a protein ice cream, only 150 cal for the whole pint! I am in love.

I went and saw Sarah at 180 nutrition in CT this weekend - she is incredible. Hooked me up with some whey isolate and some more jack3d. She is just so cute, always has such great advice. She is competing in the annual Bench Press for Breast Cancer on June 18  in CT.

Ashley has had a lot come up in her life - and will be putting the breaks on her training FOR NOW. She is going to try to train for the Granite State show that is in the fall. As a single mom, she juggles about 329048203948230 balls at once every single day, and she does an amazing job. She needs to focus on her number one right now, and I totally respect that. Still, it will hurt to not have her by my side for this. Knowing that there was always someone there that was just as tired, just as hungry, and just as sore as me was definitely helpful. Also, going to need to work on posing ASAPPPPPPPPP.

Enough debbie downerville - I weighed in at 129.4 lbs. Which is officially the lightest I have been since my junior year in high school.... 6 years ago. Holy #$*(#.

Friday the 13th... Ashley's 22nd birthday!

I spent the day golfing with dad, uncle jeff and shaney, had a BLAST, but didn't plan my meals well bc I didn't know I was going til last minute. Bummer. Headed to the gym for a quick cardio session now, going to cardio blast in the morning to dieeeee and love it.

Hopefully I will get a job SOON so I can have some $$$ to play with, and be able to travel to practice my posing! Next weigh in is next thursday... I'm at 131.4 right now... going to bust some @$$ to get under 130 by thursday! My goal weight is to be 117-123 come show time... which is exactly 11 weeks and 1 day away. Keep your fingers crossed for me, and if you see me, keep me motivated to work hard and lift heavy!

Sorry for sucking...

I havent updated in a while, and I really hope that if you've been following, you keep following, things are getting good!!!So Ashley lost 8 pounds in just a couple week on Tony's crazy diet. She is getting MUCH stronger, and is SO motivated and dedicated. We are both putting a LOT more focused, heavy lifting into our workouts, and working the stairmaster like it's going out of style :)

I got my bodyfat done today... (4/26/11).... I weighed in at 132.5 lbs (which I haven't weighed since high school) and a rockin 12.45% bodyfat! First, I am SOOOOo thankful for my strength coach being there for me and my measurements whenever I ask him. Secondly, my aaaaamazing nutritionist Corey, who taught me not to be afraid of carbs!!!!!

Sorry for the sh*ttttttty quality camera phone, but it was the best I had at the time. I walk around the house in my hooker heels... hoping that I'll learn how to walk in them :)

20 min on the stairmaster total
10 min of 30 seconds level 18, 30 seconds level 6
10 min of 40 seconds level 18, 30 seconds level 6

Incline bench -
5 sets, reps of 4-8-12-16-20
90 lbs x 4, 80 lbs x 8, 70 x 12, 55 x 16, 45 x 20

decline bench -
5 sets, reps of 4 -8-12-16-20
90 lbs x 4, 80 lbs x 8, 70 x 12, 55 x 16, 45 x 20

I did these with minimal rest between, and my spotter helped strip weights between so as to shorten the rest even more.

Todays Workout

5 rounds with 65 lbs on the bar
10 hang clean
10 push press
10 dead lift
10 overhead squat

Tomorrow, lifting back bis & tris... Sunday playing field hockey at UNH... Monday, workout with Ashley... Tuesday,  Crossfit with Heidi, then interview all day!

I weighed in the other day, and weighed in at 137 lbs. Which puts my weight-loss to date at 13 lbs!  While the number on the scale is great, I'm so happy with how I'm looking and more importantly how I'm feeling. Corey did a GREAT diet for me, and I'm confident that I'm taking care of my body and doing this the RIGHT way. I'm NOT losing weight by starving myself and doing days and days of cardio! Thats all for now :)

Words of wisdom for the week: Nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels. Stay disciplined.

Sorry, I've been told I'm a bad blogger. Ash and I got to work out together over the weekend, and we threw some serious weights around! Probably the hardest leg workout I've ever done... Anyway, it's picture time!


15 weeks and change til showtime... My goal is to stop the little cheats on my diet - a bite here and there was fine before, but now it's time to get serious and stop messing around! and definitely more posing practice!!

Happy 3rd Birthday Hudson!! Your mom is an amazing woman, raising a strong, independent boy, without a doubt :)
Holy cow. A bit of a change from what I posted earlier...
We got a freak April fool's blizzard on Friday, and were unable to leave for the tournament. I went to the gym with Lynsey and got a great lift in. Overhead squats, hang cleans, push up rows, pull ups & obliques... Love bringing new friends to lift with me, and how excited they get when they enjoy it. She's going to be joining our early morning workout crew :)!

Saturday we took off early and headed to Boston College. We played 4 30 minute field hockey games... Sunday was more of the same at UMass Amherst, 4 more games. All in all, we played 4 full field hockey games in 2 days. Needless to say, I'm tired. My achilles on my left ankle is sore, but really the rest of my body just needs some sleep and I'll be good as new. Today is a much needed day off, but I'll be back at it tomorrow, throwing some weights around with the girls!

20 Squat shoulder press (i did 15 Lb dumbells)
36 squat, bob, knee up (hahaha ill explain what it looks like, it starts in a squat position hands in front bob like you would in kickboxing and raise a knee to the side ill find a video of what it looks like)
15 dumbell curls
1 lap jog with 12/15 lb medicine ball alternate hands half way, keep elbow at 90* angle to isolate bi (we bumped up weight each time ending at 18 LBs)

Omg badddd blogger again.

Tuesday - I scrimmaged and did corners at 6 am with the girls... and had an interview! So it was an exhausting, but fun day.

Wendesday - I did an upper body lift, thinking that I had scrimmaging in the afternoon and VO2 max test in the evening... both of which got canceled. So, I did Nike's heartthrob workout in my basement, with Koda barking at the door the entire 30 minutes.

And Today, exactly 16 weeks, 1 day til show time.
Jamie, Britt and I did Nike's Gladiator circuit...
and then 12 minutes of intervals on the stair master before I had to go to work...

and to catch myself up a bit...
I'm taking tomorrow off, and playing in spring field hockey tournaments at BC and UMass Amherst on saturday & sunday... Lots of cardio, but will have to pick up the weights big time on Monday...

Got in a cardio workout today... 20 min on 15% incline speed 3.0, then 16 min of intervals on the stair master (1 min at level 6, 1 min at level 17).
But more importantly, today was picture daaaayyyy.

Day from hell at work... Went to Planet Fitness with Jamie, completely drained from the office... probably not my favorite gym, definitely not my best workout.
Anyway, did an upper body lift, back extensions, and ad/abductors... sorry too long ago for me to remember specifics. I'll try not to suck next time.

Wednesday -

Exactly 18 weeks til show time!

So, I had decided that I was too embarrassed to post my progress pictures online, but I changed my mind. Embarrassment can be a huge motivator. So as soon as I have a picture to compare it to (next week), the pictures will be posted. Very scary for me, but hopefully will make me more and more comfortable come show time. And give me that extra boost of motivation! When Ash and I are back together in May, we'll pose together again!

Jamie came to the gym with me this morning, and we did a quick warm-up circuit (pushups, dips, squats, planks, lateral lunges, squat jumps). Then headed to the weight room for the lift circuit. 55 lbs -
4 rounds of
10 hang clean
10 push press
10 front squat
10 dead lift.

I'm definitely pushing up to 65lbs next time I do the circuit. Then we did 3 rounds of leg lifts and calf raises, just for kicks.

The legs are tiiiiiiiiiiired today. Really hoping tomorrow feels better!

Upper body lift this morning, feeling GREAT and got a few compliments from people I've known about my progress already, which is always a bonus! Makes me feel like i'm making real strides, not just in my head :)

Also got some awesome crossfit wods from new cross fit certified trainer Michelle!! Can't wait to try them out!

I had a pretty important choice to make at 5:55 this morning when my alarm went off... get up and get going, or curl back up for another 90 minutes before work. It wasn't easy, and I won't say I didn't contemplate it, but I got my @$$ up and in gear, and I'm SO happy I did!

The legs are sooooore today! We're both getting vicious hungry at 8 or 9 pm... and a great resource says to try a protein shake and 1/4 up of almonds (slow digesting fats)... We'll see how that goes tonight!

We did core and back today...

Took a break from cardio, going to hope the legs are back under us tomorrow and get after it hard... then Mallory's back to Maine, and long distance partnership is in full swing :(
